Cabinet Remarks - Canberra

ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: Welcome everyone. Another busy day today, as we've said, in the work that you have before us, and the work of government continues each and every day, and I want to thank everyone for the efforts that everyone is making. In the last couple of weeks, we've had big announcements on Medicare, three big ones.

Doorstop interview - Sydney

ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: It's great to be back in my electorate, my hood, here at Hawke’s Brewery, here in Marrickville. I came here when this site was under construction. And since then, what we've seen is that this is a centre of community activity. People come here, it's a convivial atmosphere. It employs local people, it drives the local economy, and it makes a difference.

Albanese Labor Government to freeze draught beer excise

The Albanese Labor Government will freeze the indexation on draught beer excise for two years, in a win for beer drinkers, brewers and hospitality businesses.

Indexation is applied twice a year under arrangements in place for decades. While the February indexation accounted for a small percentage of the cost of a pint, this change will help pubs and their patrons.

We will freeze indexation on draught beer for two years from the next indexation date of August 2025.

ANTHONY ALBANESE, PRIME MINISTER: Welcome to Grayndler, everyone, and can I thank Keith very much for showing us around his home here in Ashfield. Can I also welcome Jess from the Inner West Council, Penny, representing the NSW Government, and of course, Minister Chris Bowen. We're always looking for ways to help Australians with cost of living and this project here has resulted in just that.

$25 million to power-up apartment solar and bring down power bills

The Albanese Labor Government is working with the Minns NSW Government to deliver a new $25 million program to help apartment residents save up to $600 on their energy bills annually.

The Solar for Apartment Residents incentive is the first-of-its-kind in NSW and provides co-funding to eligible owners’ corporations and strata managers to install shared rooftop solar systems.

Currently one in five NSW homes are apartments, yet only about 3.5 per cent of those are connected to solar.

Doorstop interview - Sunbury

SAM RAE, MEMBER FOR HAWKE: Good morning. My name’s Sam Rae. We’re here at the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Sunbury. We announced this urgent care centre as part of the 2022 election campaign. It was a priority in our plan to fix Medicare and we opened it just twelve months later. Since then it’s seen 19,000 patients and become a critical component of the primary healthcare system here in Sunbury.

Building Victoria's future

I thank the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Herald Sun for bringing this forum together.

My Government is focused on building Australia’s future – and Victoria is central to this in every way.

This state represents over 20 per cent of Australia’s economy.

More than a quarter of Australia’s value-added manufacturing.

More than 700,000 small businesses.

And in so many fields, from medical research to renewable energy technology, Victoria is a global leader, not just a national one.
