STEFANOVIC: So, let's start off with trying to get some clarity because investors do need it. Will you guarantee that you won't touch negative gearing and capital gains tax concessions?
The situation between Lebanon and Israel since October 8th, 2023 is intolerable and presents an unacceptable risk of a broader regional escalation. This is in nobody’s interest, neither of the people of Israel nor of the people of Lebanon.
It is time to conclude a diplomatic settlement that enables civilians on both sides of the border to return to their homes in safety.
Diplomacy however cannot succeed amid an escalation of this conflict.

Are you going to curb negative gearing and capital gains tax deductions or not?
NATALIE BARR, HOST: I took a cab into work this morning and on the way in, I asked the driver, ‘If you could speak to the Prime Minister today, what would you say to him?’ He said, ‘I've been a Labor voter my entire life, but for the first time, I think I'll vote differently at the next election’. He told me things have become too expensive. He's having to work two jobs and he just doesn't believe the government is doing anything about it. I want to bring in Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, now. Good morning to you, Prime Minister. This is your biggest problem.
The second CHOICE Quarterly Report on Supermarket Prices initiated by the Albanese Government has been released today, providing facts to consumers about where to find cheaper prices.
Funded for three years by the Albanese Labor Government, the CHOICE Report gives Australians accurate data on how to get the cheapest groceries.
To compile the Report, CHOICE visited 104 stores across Australia including Aldi, Coles, Woolworths and IGA.
CHRIS O’KEEFE, HOST: Now, is the Prime Minister crazy or is he crazy brave, trying to kill off negative gearing? So, he confirmed that Treasury is looking at ways to potentially overhaul negative gearing and the capital gains tax discount. So, he had the opportunity to rule it out today at a press conference and he didn't. Now, I've been on the phone to sources within the Government and none of them know for sure if they'll end up re-badging the Bill Shorten policies from 2016 and 2019, reshaping them.
LUCY BREADEN, HOST: It is time to say hello to the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, who has been in the state today, in Tasmania, making some big funding announcements, including $120 million for a new Northern Heart Centre that will be in Launceston. You may remember a conversation I had with our Health Minister, I think it was last week, and he was saying, ‘no, this will be a 50/50 split with the Federal Government’. Well, today Anthony Albanese has come out and said, ‘we'll fund the whole thing’. There's also going to be a funding boost for Tasmanian state schools.
