This wonderful facility is able to make sure that the coordination occurs across agencies. And you'll see increased Federal involvement here as well. Today, we've signed off on a commitment to provide further support to Victorians as a result of this flood event that continues to unfold.

MARK OLSEN, CEO OF TOURISM TROPICAL NORTH QUEENSLAND: Good morning everybody and welcome. We gather here on the lands of the Djabugay people with some of the most important decision makers in the country. On behalf of the tourism industry here in tropical North Queensland we’re breathing a sigh of relief for many businesses have been cut off for as many as 28 days. Today we're announcing, the Prime Minister, the Premier, and this incredible raft of decision makers, including the Treasurer, are here to support the tourism industry in their time of need.

The Albanese Government has appointed Dr Craig Emerson to lead the 2023-24 review of the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct (the Code) to ensure that the supermarket sector is working as it should.

The Food and Grocery code is prescribed under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Aldi, Coles, Woolworths and Metcash are signatories to the Code and are bound by it.

The Code was introduced to improve standards of business behaviour in the food and grocery sector.

The Code regulates the conduct of these retailers and wholesalers towards suppliers.

The Albanese and Miles Governments are delivering further disaster assistance to help Far North Queensland continue its recovery following ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.

The exceptional circumstances assistance is jointly-funded by the Albanese and Miles Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

Today’s announcement will further support local tourism, clean-up efforts and invest in specialised recovery staff:

I know that you toured the area there yesterday. You've announced a $50 million support package to Queenslanders impacted by the recent wild weather - that's great. We know you're off to Victoria today to visit some of the areas there who have also been ravaged. Will you announce a similar package for Victorians?

ROWLAND: You have seen the devastation that Michael Rennie just referred to in and around the Gold Coast, similarly in Cairns. What help is the Federal Government providing with Queenslanders so hard-hit by these natural disasters?

JAYNE AZZOPARDI, HOST: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in the disaster zone, bringing $20 million in federal funding to help residents and councils recover, and he's also flagged that Victorians can expect similar treatment in days to come. And the PM joins us now from Cairns. Good morning to you, Prime Minister. This feels to us like the summer of disasters. From what you've seen in Queensland over the last twenty-four hours, how long will it take the state to recover?

DANICA DE GIORGIO, HOST: Prime Minister, thank you so much for joining us. You've been in Far north Queensland today, which was of course ravaged by floods over the last few weeks. Have you got an update on the recovery efforts?

The Albanese Government is supporting the recovery effort in Far North Queensland (FNQ), following ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.

At the request of the Queensland Government, Australian Defence Force personnel will be deployed to assist Queensland authorities in the Douglas, Cook and Wujal Wujal regions.
